KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION at ALTHA
Altha Public School has announced its annual Kindergarten screening and registration. It will be held Thursday, March 14. The school asks parents to stop by the school and pick up enrollment paperwork and have it filled out when they arrive for their appointment. Speech pathologist, Lena Smith, will conduct speech and language screenings, and the school health aide, Mallory McClain, will be available to answer questions about immunization requirements. The requirements for registration are that a child live in Calhoun County and be 5 years old before September 1, 2019. Out-of-county requests will be accommodated if enrollment numbers of in-county students allow space in the classrooms. Please call the school (762-3121 x 220) and set up an appointment to enroll your child on March 14. Important information to bring with you includes your child’s certified birth certificate, social security card, your driver’s license, proof of residency, and your child’s state immunization certificate (obtained through the health department or physician). Additionally, please bring a proof of a recent Florida Physical with you (obtained through your physician or your child’s pre-K school). The physical must be dated no earlier than 12 months before school starts in August.
