Superintendent of Schools Ralph Yoder, announced that Drew Stallworth was recently recognized as the recipient of the “Make Their Day Better” award for March 2015. This monthly award was instituted by Superintendent Yoder to recognize individuals that make a difference in the day of fellow staff members, students and/or parents.
Mr. Stallworth has been working for the Calhoun County School Board for two years. Currently, he is employed at Blountstown Elementary School as a P.E. Coach.
Mr. Stallworth was nominated by a team of colleagues who shared the following:
Drew Stallworth is one of the kindest, [most] dedicated, and hard-working co-workers we have ever worked with. He treats each of our children at Blountstown Elementary School with kindness and respect. He makes their days better EVERY DAY at P.E. He shows concern and caring for each child whether it is at P.E. or a student he meets in the hall. He smiles and pats them on the back or gives them a hug and beaming smile if they are having a bad day. He makes students feel involved, encouraged, and welcome at P.E. and at school. He engages them in conversation so he can learn more about them. He genuinely cares about each child at B.E.S.
He is constantly seeking new activities to engage the children and make them love physical education. The latest project he has gotten our kids involved in is taking up money to buy playground balls for children in Africa that have nothing to play with. In 3 weeks the children have already exceeded his goal. We are sure this is because of their love and respect for him as much as their concern for the children in Africa.
Drew also makes his co-workers days better every day also. He is always willing to step up and help in any way he can. He looks for ways to help other teachers. He always jumps in to any task with a smile and enthusiasm. He a true asset to the faculty and staff at our school.
B.E.S Principal Pam Bozeman stated, “Drew is very deserving of the honor! I am grateful to have him as a part of the faculty at B.E.S.”
Congratulations to Mr. Stallworth as he works daily to make other’s days better.
